Check this guy out, he's a beauty. Very common in wheat and later on oilseed rape.They are emerging at the moment and will increase in numbers through the next month, they buzz around at low speed and altitude hence the local name for them - bombers.
I can't speak for the larvae but the adults don't seem to do much in the way of damage although that doesn't stop the local agronomist trying to nuke them out of existence with dimethoate.
