Russian Crop Tour day one

Yesterday we completed day one of our Central Russian Crop Tour with some interesting
observations.

After the first worrying crop assessment – see picture – things improved somewhat.

On the whole things are looking reasonable although reports from further south are less bullish and I have my doubts about what we will find further east based on what we saw last month.

We will complete the tour over this weekend with a report coming out soon after, if you would like a copy of the report (£100) and would like to support our ongoing initiative to provide an independent, unbiased and honest assessments of the Black Sea crops – and let’s face it there’s not a huge amount of information available – then drop me a line and I’ll register you.

To those who have already registered an interest I will get back to you shortly.

Just out of interest we have covered 21,000km looking at crops so far this season and will probably finish the year with 29,000km when all done, not a bad first year.

Russian Crop Tour about to hit the road

Setting off today or tomorrow to run a Crop Tour of Russia.

We will hit the road for a few days to assess the pre-harvest condition of corn, sunflower and soya across central Russia.

As in previous tours we will make a rapid appraisal of each crop with random stops to assess the yield potential of corn and soya – no idea how to assess sunflower yield potential other that count plants.

We will then produce a short report with our results, comments, observations and photographs.

If you would like to sign up and receive a copy of the report for £100 email me at agronomy.ukraine@yahoo.co.uk and I’ll invoice you and send you the report on completion.

I will also set up a Russian Crop Tour closed Twitter account on which we will publish photographs and comments during the tour itself.

This year we have covered 20,000km on the road looking at crops and plan on a few more tours before the season is out, as far as I am aware we are the only independent group providing this service so your previous and future support is greatly appreciated.

We have learnt a lot and have some great plans for 2016, watch this space.

Any question just drop me a line.

p.s We will be conducting a tour of Ukraine very soon.
