Black Sea Crop Forecasts

We provide an independent assessment of crop conditions and yield potential for selected commodity crops.
We do this by conducting a series of crop tours across Russia and Ukraine through the growing season.
Scope
  • March - post-winter crop condition
  • May/June - post-planting spring crop condition
  • July - pre-harvest assessment, early crops
  • August - pre-harvest assessment, late crops
  • November - post-planting winter crop condition
Yield Forecasts
We use Rapid Crop Appraisal and Detailed Crop Appraisal techniques to assess crop conditions, then weighted yield averages and official planting figures to determine our yield forecast.
But mainly we are in the fields having a good look.
