The latest satellite image from Ukraine is showing the area of snow melt now includes central regions along with the southern
regions first highlighted by us last Tuesday.
The latest satellite image is not entirely cloud free which
makes it tricky to see the full picture but it does appear to show the thaw has spread.
Temperatures are reasonably benign right now but forecasts
are indicating little snow fall and night time lows of -22C (-7F) by Thursday.
I don’t think we are looking at catastrophic crop failure
but the crop is exposed and at an elevated risk should
temperatures drop very low for any length of time which they can still do right into March.
Needs watching closely.
