In an announcement posted online yesterday Ukraine’s
Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Taras Kutovyi, said he had submitted his
written resignation to Parliament.
Kutovyi has been against implementing a market in the sale
of land, currently barred under a long running moratorium, so many will be looking
to his replacement hoping to see some movement in that direction.
He has been in the post 13 months and his predecessor 16
months, while I’m not entirely sure what that tells you about the current situation
in Ukraine’s Ministry of Agriculture, it is saying something.
Kutovyi says he is leaving the post to focus on attracting
investment in Ukraine, probably something he would be best placed to do as a
Minister.
His resignation is yet to be authorised by the parliament
and a successor announced.
