Kazakhstan’s
Ministry of Agriculture report the current harvest stands at 23.6mmt of grains
(18.3mmt in 2015) from 15.3mha or 99.8% of the cropped area.
The total average
yield was 1.54mt/ha compared to 1.31mt/ha in 2015.
Total output
is up nearly 30%, driven in part by a 10% increase in hectares planted but also
an 18% increase in yield per hectare reflecting the favourable weather conditions
experienced over much of the Black Sea region this year.
We are
hoping to include a crop tour through Kazakhstan's grain growing region next
spring if we can raise sufficient funds, watch this space.
